Public Lands Month

National Public Lands Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of September, but many outdoor groups celebrate the whole month. On the day itself, September 26, 2020, you can visit a national park for free, take part in a volunteer work project to receive a fee-free day pass for a future date, and share your favorite outdoor activities on social media with the hashtags #NPSVolunteer, #FindYourPark, and #NPLD! Fishing Your Home Waters with John Davenport, from Denver Trout Unlimited

You don't have to travel hours to an iconic stream with hard to catch fish. Try your home water, nearby, or on the way to those stretches everyone fishes. This short video shows you what to look for and how those places you practice translate into the same structures on more popular rivers.

Former opponents now partners working to restore the upper Colorado River

The dam at Windy Gap blocks fish passage, increases stream temperature and causes other ecological challenges. For years, TU and Northern Water argued over Northern Water’s water supply projects, including a proposal to add additional storage to the Windy Gap Project.

But now, in a sign of the changing times on water supply in the West, Trout Unlimited and Northern Water are cooperating to restore the Colorado River.

Ken's Crazy Ant

Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions made an amazing video for this pattern and it looks like a good one to add to your 'end of summer' lineup.

Summer 2020 High Country Angler

Featuring articles on reading water with Landon Mayer, the new CTU president reflecting on silver linings, a walk down memory lane fishing for brown trout, Colorado’s fight against weakening the Clean Water Act, and much more, including the regular columns.

Take Action: Ensure Responsible Energy Development with safeguards for wildlife, fish and their habitat

Please take a moment to give your voice and urge the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) to ensure responsible energy development through providing safeguards for wildlife, fish and their habitat. Both the outdoor economy and our Colorado quality of life depends on it. Commenting deadline on the 1200 Series Rules are due by September 18, 2020 at 5pm.
