Troutfest Colorado

Troutfest Colorado is July 8th at Coors Field from 12pm to 6pm! It’s a one of a kind summer festival and celebration of conservation, education, and fly fishing. Bring the entire family FREE of charge with registration and enjoy exhibitors, youth activities, interactive booths, ballpark tours and concessions, casting presentation and demo opportunities, fly tying, and much more!

In addition, CTU will be showing the International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4) on the Coors Field jumbotron after the event for purchase. You don't want to miss the largest showing of IF4 in history!

Supreme Court Rolls Back Clean Water Act Protections

On May 25th, the US Supreme Court issued a ruling sharply curtailing Clean Water Act protections for wetlands that are vital to healthy and functioning watersheds. While not directly addressed, the decision also appears to put streams that don’t have year-round flow at risk of losing Clean Water Act protection as well.

 

Mending the Line - In Theaters Now

A new motion picture written by Stephen Camelio and directed by Joshua Caldwell—starring A-list actors Brian Cox, Sinqua Walls, Patricia Heaton and others—called “Mending the Line” tells the story of a U.S. Marine “Colt” (Walls) who returns from a traumatic tour in Afghanistan and is sent to a VA facility in Montana.

 
 

STREAM Keepers at Walking Mountain in Avon, CO

On June 3rd, CTU joined Walking Mountain Science Center in hosting a STREAM Keepers program for over 15 participants. We learned about macroinvertebrates and watershed ecosystems, we got to build a bug, and we even got to tie some flies!

 
 

TU launches new Colorado Basin and Greater Southwest Webpage

For far too long, the Colorado River has been overused and overworked. Despite this year’s epic winter, the system’s largest reservoirs are still less than a third full, while the Basin faces threats to its environmental, economic, and cultural values.

Join TU staff Thursday, June 29th, for a Streamside Chat discussion about the crisis facing the Colorado River Basin and the role TU plays in helping building climate resilience in the watershed. 

 

International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4) on the Coors Field Jumbotron

Want to see the largest showing of IF4 ever? After Troutfest Colorado, CTU will present IF4 on the Coors Field Jumbotron! In multiple segments, the film showcases flyfishing from unique locations around the world, from  trout in the U.S. to huge Golden Dorado in the mountains of Bolivia.  IF4 will mesmerize and thrill any angler – freshwater or salt. Tickets are $20
