| | | The Fight Isn’t Over: Tell the Senate to Protect Public Lands |
| | | In May, the House of Representatives passed a budget bill that included several threats to public lands and coldwater resources. Thanks to strong public pushback, an amendment that would have sold off 500,000 acres in Nevada and Utah was removed before the final vote. However, the bill still includes damaging provisions that weaken oil and gas regulations, expand drilling on public lands, cut essential agency funding, and roll back protections for Minnesota’s Boundary Waters. The Senate is now drafting its version of the bill, and we have another chance to speak up. This draft would sell off 2 million acres of public land, and once it's gone, it's gone. Trout Unlimited is urging supporters to contact their Senators and ask them to reject these harmful measures and ensure public land sales are kept out of this and future legislation. Budget reconciliation lacks public transparency and is not the right place for major decisions about our public lands and clean water. Please take a moment to add your voice. |

| | Colorado Parks and Wildlife reports encouraging signs of fish returning to the Colorado River Connectivity Channel near Granby. Recent surveys documented hundreds of brown and rainbow trout, along with native sculpin not seen in this stretch for decades. The rapid response of fish to the new habitat shows early success for one of Colorado’s largest aquatic restoration projects. The area remains closed to fishing until vegetation is fully established. |
