Nearly 400 people came out last Thursday to support Colorado's rivers, trout, and healthy watersheds. Colorado TU honored Jeff Shoemaker of the Greenway Foundation with the 2020 River Stewardship Award. The award will be in the form of a commemorative plaque along the South Platte river honoring his work promoting parks and responsible development along greenways, raising funds for a Chatfield environmental pool to benefit South Platte stream flows, and developing education programs that engage thousands of Denver kids every year with the outdoors. As a special addition to the 2020 Gala, Hank Patterson, fly fishing guide and entertainer, came by to help introduce the evening and close it out with a bit of comedy. The event raised important funds for CTU and will catapult our 2020 work to conserve, protect, and restore Colorado's coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.
