Cheesman Canyon Needs Our Help, Again

On Monday, July 31st, the South Platte River in Cheesman Canyon experienced a devastating rain event. Approximately 2.5 inches of rain fell in an hour, flooding the area around the river and sending sediment into it. The Gill Trail experienced significant damage, as well. 

The Cutthroat Chapter of Trout Unlimited is beginning to mobilize and is now accepting communication and volunteer signup.

 
 

STREAM Keepers Program has a busy July and August

Colorado Trout Unlimited had a great time with kids exploring our rivers and streams in Black Hawk, Delta, and Hotchkiss in July and August! CTU joined Lincoln Hills Cares, Sun Valley Youth, and The Nature Connection in hosting STREAM Keepers for dozens of kids to teach them about fly fishing and what makes a healthy stream.

Regaining functionality in Colorado’s headwaters systems by restoring nature’s design

A Grander Canyon: Newest National Monument Designated This Week in Arizona

President Biden designates Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni – Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument to protect nearly one million acres of this idyllic landscape from future mining.
