Bamboo Fly Rod – “The San Juan”. 7-foot, 4-weight. Payne 98 taper.
“The San Juan” commemorates the San Juan lineage cutthroat trout and was made by Steve Foisie. The rod has been used by Steve once to catch a San Juan cutthroat, and subsequently donated to Trout Unlimited.
Steve has made and donated at least 16 bamboo fly rods commemorating various species of Cutthroat Trout, including the Greenback, Colorado River, Rio Grande, Snake River, Yellowstone, Bonneville, Lahontan, West Slope and others. It has truly been a labor of love.
Now, you can give some “Love” for the San Juan cutthroat by purchasing a raffle ticket or tickets which gives you at least a 1 in 100 chance to own this one-of-a-kind, exquisitely made bamboo fly rod. On top of that, we have it on good authority that it is light in the hand, not at all noodely and a delight to cast. In short, a wonderful fishing tool and the perfect rod for chasing cutthroat trout.
No more than 100 tickets will be sold, so don't miss your opportunity to take part! Fair market value on the San Juan rod is $1800.
Proceeds from this raffle will support the Five Rivers Chapter of Colorado Trout Unlimited including its ongoing efforts to restore the San Juan lineage cutthroat trout to new habitats in its historic range.
